Images of each character

I have dedicated these pages to The Animated Star Trek Series

Each episode has its own page . You will find images of each character from the episode and a short biography of most characters with speaking parts.

The Episodes page lists all episodes with the original air date, mission stardate and production number and links to each episode. Guest Voices lists all the speaking characters and who did the voice for each.

Some characters appeared in more than one episode. Instead of including biographies of these characters on the episode pages; there is a link to a special page for each.

The cartoon version of Star Trek only lasted for 1 ½ seasons, or 22 episodes. They weren't much of a success even though most of the actors from the original series did the voices. They were able to do things with the animation that they could not do in 1973, like making the crew younger. And then there was Lieutenant M'Ress and Lieutenant Arex. Neither of which would have worked very well in costumes and makeup.

And, of course, Bem could not have made his parts move around separately. All in all, the series was good even though the fans didn't seem to like it.

A few television stations still broadcast the cartoons in syndication. Watch your listings, maybe you can catch them some day. If nothing else, they are fun. I purchased the cartoons on VHS tape from Amazon.com.

The Animated Series

The cartoons began airing on September 8, 1973. For the most part, they were too slow and hokey for adults to ever get attached. We dutifully watched them, however, they were Star Trek after all. Some of the episodes were noteworthy. For instance, "Yesteryear" an episode that was a spin-off of "City on the Edge of Forever." and "More Tribbles, More Troubles" and we all know what that was a spin-off of. The former was pretty good but the tribbles one stunk. Another memorable episode was "Mudd's Passion." Again, not too good but we saw a familiar character. And at that time we were missing the "real" Star Trek. But they didn't last. In October of 1974 we saw the last new episode. Oh well!
